Mattie Burkert (mattie [at] theeminentdomain [dot] org) is an NYU undergraduate studying journalism and English and American literature. Mattie is working toward a career that will allow her to use writing to get to the root of social problems and foster educated civic involvement in public life.

Alyssa Katz (alyssa [at] theeminentdomain [dot] org) is a journalist based in Midwood. She was previously editor of City Limits, an investigative news and policy magazine covering New York City’s neighborhoods and the forces that shape them. An adjunct professor of journalism at New York University, Alyssa has written about urban affairs, government and society for New York, Mother Jones, The Nation, Psychology Today, The American Prospect, Salon and other publications. She is currently working on a book about the origins of the housing boom and its consequences for communities.

Danyelle King [danyelleking [at] hotmail [dot] com], from Yonkers, is an urban studies major at Brown University.

Tenelle Pierce (tenelle_p [at] yahoo [dot] com) is a an 18 year old, college-bound Youth Board Member of FUREE and very active in her community.

Eric Pugh (eric_pugh [at] yahoo [dot] com) is a resident of Ingersoll Houses in downtown Brooklyn and an organizer with Families United for Racial and Economic Equality (FUREE).

Eman Rimawi (eman [at] furee [dot] org), FUREE’s Communications coordinator, is a Black, Native American and Palestinian Queer woman of color from NYC. She is a writer, performance artist, singer, teacher, student, community organizer and freethinker. She has been and continues to organize with organizations that promote and help youg people become leaders in their communities. She continues to use her writing, performing and photography to send a message of revolution,equality and freedom of expression. She is devoted to organizing and empowering young people in NYC to strive to be their best. After all, success is the best revenge.
